Introduction
 Lugumyal Society (Kathmandu) was formed on Sunday 12th November 2007 at Tusal, Bhatkepati, Kirtipur (Kathmandu) by Lugumyal people living in Kathmandu. The aim of the Society, as proposed by Mr. Bir Prasad Gharti Magar, is to unite all Lugumyal people living in Kathmandu by engaging them socially to promote help, good will, harmony and brotherhood within the society. The other aims of the society are to preserve and promote our fast declining culture and traditions to protect our own identity from vanishing. Also to raise the awareness that "It's every Lugumyal’s duty to help and contribute towards our home land and people where we belong to", although we are living far away from our home land.
"Culture is our recognition and tradition is our existence" will be our motto. We strongly believe that without a culture and tradition we shall not have an identity. Therefore preserving, promoting and protecting our culture and tradition is our top priority. We will welcome and appreciate any contributions provided by you to achieve our objectives. |

परिचय
विभिन्न कार्य, पेशा र शिक्षाको सिलसिलामा लुगुम गाउँबाट आएर काठमाडौँ उपत्यकामा स्थायी तथा अस्थायी रुपमा बसोबास गरी बसेका सम्पूर्ण लुगुम्याल बन्धु बान्धवहरुलाई एकताको सुमधुर सुत्रमा बाँधेर एक आपसमा सहयोग, सदभाव र भाइचाराको भावना जगाउनुका साथै आफ्नो जन्मथलोबाट टाडा रहेता पनि आफ्नो रिति रिवाजलाइ कायमै राखी आफ्नो संस्कृति र परम्पराको उत्थान गरी आफ्नो पहिचानलाइ बिलिन हुनबाट जोगाउनेर जन्मथलोको बिकासमा धेरै थोरै मात्रामा योगदान पुर्याउन सम्पूर्ण उपत्यकाबासी लुगुम्याल दाजुभाई तथा दिदि बहिनीहरुलाई अभिप्रेरित गराउने पुनित उद्धेश्यबाट अभिप्रेरित भई श्री बीर प्रसाद घर्ति मगरको अग्रसरता र संयोजकत्वमा लुगुम्याल समाज (काठमाडौँ) को स्थापना काठमाडौँ बासी लुगुम्यालहरुले बि.स. २०६३ साल कार्त्तिक २६ गते आइतबारका दिन कीर्तिपुरको भट्केपाटी, टुसालमा गरेका थिए |
"संस्कृति हाम्रो चिनारी, परम्परा हाम्रो अस्तित्व" भन्ने हाम्रो नारा रहनेछ| किनकि संस्कृति र परम्परा बिना हाम्रो कुनै चिनारी र अस्तित्व रहदैन भन्ने कुरामा हामी पूर्ण बिश्वास गर्दछौ | त्यसैले हाम्रो संस्कृति र परम्पराको उत्थान, जगेर्ना र रक्षा गर्नु लुगुम्याल समाजको प्रमुख उद्धेश्य हुनेछ| हाम्रा यी पुनित उद्धेश्यहरुको प्राप्तिको लागि तपाईहरुबाट गरिने कुनै पनि योगदानलाई हामी हार्दिक स्वागत गर्दछौ|
